Employees Not Getting Enough Sleep

DAQ Will Hold 2-Day Conference in Raleigh

The DAQ reports that it's employees are not getting enough sleep, with many showing signs of drowsiness during agency meetings. To remedy the situation, the DAQ has announced that it will hold a 2-day conference in Raleigh during October.

"A two-day DAQ conference will provide each attendee with nearly 16 hours of solid sleep time," explained one of the conference organizers.

"Several of the DAQ employees scheduled to speak at the conference are so dull that they have been known to fall asleep during their own presentations," he added.

However, several DAQ employees located in regional offices questioned the wisdom of having regional staff drive long distances to attend the conference in Raleigh. "We can accomplish the same thing if they let us listen to the conference by speaker phone from our offices," one of them explained. "We know we will be asleep at our desks within 15 minutes after the conference begins," he added.

Another employee suggested that a DVD with conference proceedings be distributed to all employees to use as needed. "Any time you get behind on your sleep, just pop in that DVD for a few hours of 'REM' sleep time, and you'll be good to go."
